Are you wondering how hard it is to learn Polish? It's a common question, but the answer may surprise you. While some aspects of Polish, such as pronunciation and grammar, can be challenging for English speakers, the most important thing is to approach the language with an open mind and a willingness to learn.

At the beginning, focus on mastering the basics, including pronunciation, grammar, and spelling. Once you have a solid foundation, you'll find that the more difficult topics become easier to tackle.

To aid you in your Polish language journey, we recommend using our Polish langauge courses that will guide you through the mysteries of the Polish language.

With dedication and the right resources, anyone can learn Polish!

Yes, Polish is a hard language to learn, that is for sure. I teach Polish and regulary see people struggle with a few issues. Here's a short list of things that make Polish quite hard to learn:

And, of course, Polish pronunciation is hard. All these strange sounds ź dź dż ń ć ś and combinations of consonants make the pronunciation very difficult. Try to pronounce these words:

żółć, szczęście, Pszczyna, następstw, źdźbło, bezwzględny czy Szczebrzeszyn 😀

How hard is it to learn Polish depending on your native language but, no doubt about it, it is a hard language to learn for English speakers.

Yes, Polish is a difficult language to learn but I find it very much fun and it is challenging.

In my opinion Polish is a difficult language to learn because they have a lot of words that mean the same thing, The pronunciation is not easy even for native learners.

The accent marks make it difficult to write and it seems like they have a lot of really long words that I don't notice as much in English. The hardest part I am having in studying Polish is remembering things. Also the masculine and feminine cases are complicated.

Thank you Ania. I agree, these things make Polish quite hard langauge to master.

One point, the letters with marks, you know ń ł ź ć ś . These are not accent marks, they should be treated as separate letters. I think they were added for sounds that were not present and did not have letters in latin alphabet.

Yo, what's up? So, you're thinking about learning Polish? That's pretty cool! Is it hard to learn? Well, yeah, I mean, it's definitely not the easiest language out there. But that doesn't mean it's impossible!

One thing that can be tough is the grammar - Polish has a lot of cases and rules you gotta memorize. But the good news is, once you get the basics down, the rest kind of falls into place. The pronunciation can also be tricky, but again, practice makes perfect.

I'd say the biggest thing when learning Polish is just to stick with it. Don't get discouraged if you don't get something right away - it takes time and effort. So, to answer your question - yeah, Polish is hard to learn, but it's also super rewarding. If you're up for the challenge, go for it!
