verb tenses

The English language has a lot of verb tenses-16 (sześc naszycie) including present simple, present continuous and present perfect. Is it correct that in polish there are only five (tylko piec) verb tenses as two (dwa) aspects and three (trzy) tenses. Please (proszę) explain.
