Hi Rowan,

When editing your account, you should see a dropdown menu I want to learn ... with choices of languages. You should be able to switch the language there. You need to put your password to confirm.

Can you please let me know if this worked?

Hi Rowan, may I ask what languages do you study now? Do you have any tips how to start learning a new language?

Hi Pawel,

Right now it is Polish and German.

I also learnt a handfull of words in various languages too help with travel or from international students that stayed with me, including Norwegian and Japanese. I had a short go on Repeto Russian... not easy!

Tips... um Have a reason and motivation to learn. For example, I started learning german to read car magazines. Practice every day, even if it is just 10 minutes. Save lessons to mobile phone and listen while walking or gardening. Find apps, YouTube channels or computer programs you like to learn from including Repeto.

To help with motivation, learn about the country. Read the Poland Lonely Planet guide. Watch Poland In Undiscovered.

Good tips Rowan, thanks a lot!

I also think that motivation is the key and we should mix learning with pleasure.

I like reading so now I try to read some simple French books for kids and teenagers. It is difficults since the vocabulary is vast but I make some progress and it brings great joy 😀

Enjoy the french. It would be useful for Madagascar - when I eventually go there, and so many other countries.

Back to Polish, can we have a unit on the numbers and counting? Then an advanced unit using the numbers... example "the speed limit is 60" "the car is 8 years old" "the boy turns 12 this year"
