different words -same meaning ??

hello pawel can you tell me what is the difference between the words sympatyczny and ladny both are listed as nice in the dictionary i have. many thanks Craig.

Hi Craig, thanks for your question.

I would say that sympatyczny can be translated as agreeable or pleasant.

But ładny describes more of a physical aspect of something or somebody. It is more like pretty or good-looking in English.
