Creating Text post

Information for Repeto contributors

If you choose Text at the top of the post form, the form will look similar to this screenshot. Please read the detailed description below.

1. What type of post do you create? - if you change your mind and you want to create the different type of post, you can still do so. The information below describes creating a Text post.

2. Add image - it is possible to attach a photo to the post. Note, when attaching a photo, we need to be sure that it contains the appropriate license. Do not download any photos from the internet, but use only sites offering free photos. Here are the addresses of three such sites: Pexel, Pixabay and Pxhere.

Because photos take up a lot of space on the server and slow the website down, please do not post large-sized photos. The width of the photo should be 640 pixels - photos in this size can be downloaded from the mentioned websites.

If you have downloaded a larger image, it should be reduced to a width of 640 pixels before sending it to the server. You can do it using the program on your computer (eg in Windows we can use Paintbrush). We can also do it online on the Simple Image Resizer or Kraken website (please register on this page to change the dimensions of the photo, the additional benefit of using this site is the fact that we can do there compression of Lossy photos, that is even more optimized).

3. Post title - please provide a title referring to the content of the post.

4. Post content - in this field, enter the main content of the article. For Audio type entries, enter here an introduction informing about the audio file and what it contains.

5. Select post language - choose the language you creating a resource for. If you describe English irregular verbs, this will be English. This is not a compulsory field if you write a general article 'How to remember vocabulary quickly' leave this field as it is so the post will not be linked to any particular language.

6. Select post category - this is a compulsory field. Basically, this will allow website visitors to quickly find a relevant resource. Choose between Grammar, Dialogue, Listening, Video, Vocabulary, Language learning tips. You can choose only one category. If the content of the post relates for two categories (like video explaining grammar) choose in your opinion most important category.

7. Do you want to publish your post? - you can decide whether the post will be published on the site or will it be saved in our Drafts. For example, you can work on the post for a few days, saving it in the drafts and only publish it when it is ready. If you want to publish it, mark the checkbox.

8. Save Draft / Publish Post - depending on your choice in the previous step, you will be able to either Save Draft or Publish Post by clicking the blue button.
