My morning routine

Hello, and welcome back to another episode of English By Ear with me, Jack!

On today’s episode, we’re going to be talking about my normal morning routine. A morning routine is the actions in which a person takes on a typical morning after waking up.

I normally set my alarm nice and early and wake around 6 a.m. I do this because I feel like I am much more productive with my day when I’m up nice and early. I will normally lay in bed until around 6:30 a.m and wake up slowly into the day.

Once I decide to get out of bed I will always go straight in the shower. This helps me wake up and feel fresh and ready for the day ahead.

I will also use this as an opportunity to brush my teeth, shave and get dressed into my clothes for the day.

Once I’m washed, shaved, dressed and ready, I will head downstairs and say ‘Good morning’ to my family.

Normally my dad has already left for work by this time, but my mum and brother will be downstairs. Once I’ve sat and spoke to my family I will go and begin making my breakfast.

I find breakfast to be one of the most important meals of the day, so always make time to fit in a good healthy meal. I will normally either have Weetabix cereal and some fruit, or some poached eggs and bacon. This always helps me feel well-fed and ready for the day ahead.

After my breakfast, it is time for the gym. I try to work out at the gym on average around five times a week, and for me, the best time to workout is in the morning when I’m still feeling nice and energised.

I will drive to the gym in my car and normally spend around 1-2 hours running and swimming. Once I’m finished at the gym I will head home and shower again.

I will then usually spend a few hours in my office going through work and replying to emails and messages before lunch.

So there we have it, that was my morning routine. Thanks for listening to this episode of English By Ear! I’ll be back next time for more, until then, thanks again!
